Aberdeen Donside Pupil Named Runner-Up in the #DigiInventors Challenge

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jacob Dearie, of Westpark Primary School in Aberdeen Donside, on finishing as a runner-up in the #DigiInventors Primary Challenge; understands that Jacob's invention, BrushQuest, is an AI-powered toothbrush and app to encourage children to brush their teeth more often to prevent tooth decay; notes that the #DigiInventors Challenge is organised by the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre as its flagship competition and is delivered in collaboration with leading partners across Scotland in education, innovation, entrepreneurship and healthcare; understands that the competition aims to inspire young people to develop creative, technology-based solutions to real-world challenges, with a particular focus on improving health and care outcomes; understands that Jacob is keen to enter the secondary schools competition in 2027, where the prize includes a two-day STEM bootcamp at the City of Glasgow College; commends Jacob for his fantastic invention, and wishes him all the best for the future.
