Driving Digitally Locally Across Wishaw

That the Parliament welcomes the award-winning Driving Digitally Locally intergenerational project, which has been successfully piloted in Wishaw with secondary school pupils for the first time; notes that pupils from the Thrive Group at St Aidan’s High School in Wishaw were paired with members of St Thomas’ Lunch Club in Pather, creating meaningful opportunities for shared learning and connection across generations; understands that the project builds on earlier work with primary school digital leaders and aims to strengthen digital skills among older adults while supporting young people to develop confidence in communication and social interaction; recognises that weekly sessions have involved collaborative learning using iPads, with pupils providing hands-on support to help participants build digital confidence, and celebrates the project’s role in promoting inclusion, reducing digital isolation and strengthening community ties across North Lanarkshire.
