Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery
The motion
That the Parliament commends the official opening of Scotland's first community owned and run natural burial ground in Kinghorn; understands that the Wild Meadow Eco Cemetery has been developed over the past 10 years by Kinghorn Community Land Association; notes the determination of the fundraising committee and help from supporters that has made this possible, including donations from local businesses, and key partnerships with the Ecology Centre and Fife Council Bereavement Services, which also helped with the major milestone of the first full burial and ash internments earlier in 2026; further notes that celebrations took place after a blessing from Reverend Jim Reid and a moving reading of a poem by the local celebrant, Lesley Craig; recognises the mission to nurture the land and bring the project to life, and wishes everyone involved all the best for the future.
