Nepali Mela Edinburgh 2026

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the organising committee of Nepali Mela Edinburgh 2026 and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) UK, State Coordination Council – Scotland, on organising the second Nepali Mela Edinburgh, which was held at the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens on 13 July 2026; understands that the event celebrated Nepal’s rich cultural heritage through arts, music, dance, handicrafts, tourism and authentic cuisine; recognises the important contribution that the Nepalese community makes to Scotland’s cultural and civic life; believes that events such as Nepali Mela help to promote friendship, inclusion, cultural understanding and social harmony between Scotland’s diverse communities; commends Chairman Sher Bahadur KC, Secretary Madhav Bhandari and everyone involved in organising and supporting the celebration, and wishes NRNA Scotland every success in holding further successful Nepali Mela events in the years to come.
