Best Wishes to England in the World Cup Semi-final

That the Parliament wishes England the very best of luck in the team's World Cupsemi-final against Argentina on 15 July 2026; notes, with some regret, thatScotland will not be the side carrying the hopes of the nation at this stage ofthe tournament; considers that, as constituent nations of the UK, it is rightthat everyone supports all the home nations when they represent the country onthe world stage; hopes that England rises to the occasion, avoidsthe "usual" late drama and gives supporters a night to remember;believes that, while many MSPs rarely find themselves in agreement with thePrime Minister, his call for Scotland to get behind England on this occasion isone where common ground can be found; understands with regret that, despite thePrime Minister’s encouragement, none of Scotland’s Labour MSPs appear to havepublicly followed his lead, and looks forward to the next encounter betweenScotland and England, when it hopes Scotland can emerge victorious.
