MINIMUM RIDING WEIGHTS FOR JOCKEYS

That this House welcomes the comments made by senior professional jockeys such as Franco Dettori recognising the extreme dangers to health that jockeys take in order to reach rigidly low levels of weight; believes that every effort should be made to encourage much more healthy weight levels thereby protecting the best interests of jockeys; and notes that the Irish authorities raised their minimum weight last year.
