LONDON NIGHT BUS SERVICES

Tabled by Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat) 30 signatures

The motion

That this House recognises the importance of night buses to clubbers and night workers alike; expresses concern at recent decisions made by Transport for London (TfL) to limit or withdraw some night bus services such as the N213 in outer London; is concerned that the lack of public transport provision at night will encourage people to take illegal mini cabs or walk through unsafe areas, both of which raise serious issues about crime and individual safety; further recognises that it is important that a transport apartheid does not develop between inner and outer London; and calls on TfL and the Mayor of London to ensure that all areas of London have access to night bus services.
