Tabled by Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat)
12 signatures
The motion
That this House notes with concern that the Barking to Gospel Oak rail line has not been included in the Department for Transport's plans for electrification; believes that electrification is urgently necessary in the interests of service efficiency both for passenger and freight trains; wishes to encourage all measures to improve air quality in London and to avoid the need for the purchase of new diesel trains; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to work with the Mayor of London and Network Rail to ensure this work is carried out.
