LONDON'S NIGHT BUSES

Tabled by Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat) 39 signatures

The motion

That this House recognises the importance of nightbus provision, particularly in outer London, and believes that such provision must be protected; further believes that without these services the use of illegal minicabs will rise, potentially placing the people who use these services in jeopardy; further recognises the wider benefits that an affordable night-time bus service brings to London such as social inclusion, mobility for the elderly, flexibility and value for those working during the night, supporting London's vibrant night-time economy and reductions in congestion and carbon emissions; and calls on the Mayor of London to do his utmost to ensure the maintenance of vital bus services such as the cancelled N213.
