The motion

That this House wishes Dolly Parton a happy 80th birthday; recognises her philanthropic efforts through the Dollywood Foundation to inspire children in her home county to achieve educational success; acknowledges that the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has been in operation for over 30 years, gifting millions of free books to children from birth to age five; commends her considerable donations to charitable causes, including AIDS research and relief for wildfire, as well $1 million towards the research that produced the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine; and celebrates the girl from the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee for her outstanding contributions to music and culture, her uplifting spirit and her commitment to social mobility on her 80th birthday.
