House Committee
Lord Trefgarne moved, as an amendment to the motion that the 4th Report from the Select Committee be agreed to, at the end to insert “save for the words “the Management Board member” in paragraph 3, “Both post-holders would be members of the Management Board.” in paragraph 4, and “the Management Board member” in paragraph 6(a), and with the addition of the words “The post-holder would not be a member of the Management Board.” at the end of paragraph 6(a).” The House divided:
The Not Contents have it
Majority 147
At a glance The Not Contents won by a margin of 147 votes. The Government's position was Not Content, and it lost. This was not a whipped vote, so no party line applied.

The party breakdowns are our own analysis of the official voting records (recorded votes only; they do not describe the formal whip). How we work this out.
Peers attend divisions ad hoc, so there is no did-not-vote list. Tellers are counted in the Content and Not Content totals, unlike in the Commons.
Tellers: Lord Trefgarne (Content), Lord Palmer (Content), Lord Brabazon of Tara (Not Content), Lord Shutt of Greetland (Not Content).
