What the petition asks

The signatories to this petition confirm that they either;

(i) voted Leave and have subsequently changed their mind or
(ii) failed to participate in the EU referendum, and given the chance again, would do so and vote Remain

The electorate has gained a significant amount of concrete incremental information since the official result of the 23rd June referendum (including market reaction and significant sterling devaluation), following which the electorate is arguably much better equipped to make a more informed decision. Logic would suggest a higher turnout and meaningful chance of a different outcome. A second referendum is therefore appriorate given the irreversibility of invoking article 50.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

A confirmatory referendum on the UK's membership of the EU should be held.
