Petition · past parliament

Abolish Britain's discredited honours system.

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

David Cameron's resignation list has highlighted that Britain's honours system is corrupt, discredited and elitist.

A new system should be created, independent of politicians, which recognises and rewards true merit.
Paul Flynn's minority report to the Public Administration Select Committee sets out both problems with the current system, and proposals for alternatives.
