What the petition asks
The government should either withdraw proposals to spend £370m
on renovating Buckingham Palace and force the Royal Family to pay for it themselves, or on completion of the works force the Queen to open up the palace all year round to fee paying tourists in order to recoup the money.

Hospitals closed, schools crumbling, record numbers of homeless people due to lack of council housing, then there is the vicious and 'conscious cruelty' of the sanctions regime of this Tory government perpetrated against the most vulnerable benefit claimants and all in the name of austerity. Now we are being told that the government has found £370m down the back of the sofa to renovate Buckingham Palace.
