Hold a referendum to abolish the current House of Lords and have elected peers

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

The Goverment to abolish the current House of Lords as the peers currently do not represent the country. The Lords to be replaced by 300 Publicly elected peers on a 5 year term with a maximum of 10 years in post. These election should co-inside with the general election every 5 years.
The House of Lords are full of peers who don't represent the current political view of the country. The Lib Dem have many peers in the Lords with very few MP in the commons and many are out of touch with the general public.
There should be election for the House of Lords along with the general election every 5 years so the Lords represent the views of the people.
