What the petition asks
Dog's require off lead exercise for their health and welfare and currently enjoy this in a variety of areas including local beaches, nature reserves and parks. This is now being prevented by the introduction of Public Spaces Protection Orders which limit where dogs can be exercised off lead.
The Kennel Club and the RSPCA both state that dogs require off lead exercise. The RSPCA state that "Dogs enjoy interacting and playing with other people and animals and it is important that they are able to express this and other normal behaviour off the lead." The Kennel Club states that "a PSPO being introduced which will have significant negative impacts on both dog owners and their dogs."
