What the petition asks
I want this action in place to protect children who also suffer from domestic abuse in a family home. Children are being used by the abuser to abuse the victim emotionally & mentally causing emotional harm to the child, this has a huge impact on there daily life & the child struggles with emotions.
These are some of the effects of domestic violence on children:
-They may become anxious or depressed
-They may have difficulty sleeping
-They may have nightmares or flashbacks
-They may complain of physical symptoms such as tummy aches
-They may start to wet their bed
-They may have temper tantrums
-They may behave as though they are much younger than they are
-They may have problems at school, or may start truanting
-They may become aggressive
-They may turn to alcohol or drugs

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you would like more help for children who have been victims of domestic abuse, but are not sure what law you would like the Government or Parliament to introduce.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
You might also like to sign one of these petitions:
Make domestic abuse punishments more severe.
Provide domestic violence victims with paid leave to help them escape abusers
