Ensure compulsory recording of implanted microchip
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Many animals found straying are unable to be reunited because although microchipped, their details are not registered with a recognised database.
There is no requirement for implanters to register the microchips with the keeper's details once implanted. If it were a requirement it would make it easier to reunite the animal or find out who is responsible for it in case of any incidents involving that animal.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
