Take action against human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

India’s decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir has created unprecedented unrest in the Kashmir valley. The increased deployment of troops and heightened tensions between nuclear-armed India and Pakistan pose a grave threat to regional and international security.
We call upon the UK government to:
1. To take cognisance of the UN OHCHR reports on Kashmir (2018, 2019) & pressure India to follow the reports’ recommendations
2.To re-iterate its support for the realisation of Kashmiri aspirations of self-determination in line with the 1948 UN resolutions 47 and 39
3.To commit to the resolution of the Kashmir dispute through peaceful dialogue involving India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.
