What the petition asks

The fixed term Parliament Act has caused unforseen damage to our centuries old democracy and needs abolishing. It is obvious to us all that Parliament cannot function under this Act.
Ian Duncan Smith, one of the authors of the act has publicly stated that it was a mistake and that it was enacted in haste!

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
