Petition · past parliament

Stop the HMRC changes to self employed status "IR35".

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Call on parliament to suspend and rescind all planned changes to tax status, which will descriminate against the self employed or LTD company owner to seek and carry out non mutual obligation work on an ad hoc, temp, provisional or contractual basis.
These changes are counter productive and absurd. It is every persons right to work for, who, when and how much and which tax status they wish to pay their taxes.
The IR35 tax change does not allow this and will allow large multi-national companies to descriminate.
The criteria set out is vacuous and injudicious, and represents an alarming over-reach by the HMRC. I ask this planned change to be suspended for a formal investigation into this decision and a viable alternative can be found.
