Petition · past parliament
Introduce legislation to stop panic buying.
Rejected
15 signatures
What the petition asks
Make it illegal to buy bulk purchases during the COVID-19 crisis and to restrict the number of items to 3 or 4 maximum.
This selfish behaviour is causing the vulnerable and elderly to suffer as they cannot get basic provisions such as milk, food and loo rolls. The introduction of new legislation will force people to think about what they are doing and will empower supermarkets and other shops to enforce this rule.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
