What the petition asks

Financially support self employed people who haven't filled out a tax return the same way they are supporting the rest of the self employed population. Whilst more complicated, there must be a reasonable way to allow newly self employed people to claim more than £100 a week.

We are being hung out to dry just because we don't yet have an official form to show our business finances. We have invoices, payments, and numerous other ways to prove our income over the last however many months, yet will not receive any financial help from the government. This is a disgrace; so many people and their families are going to go homeless and we cannot let this happen just because their business is less then a year old! Fraud is a possibility, this is a reality. There must be a way
