Petition · past parliament

Grant indefinite leave to remain to all overseas NHS workers forthwith.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The government has today announced a one year extension of stay to 3000 overseas employees in the NHS whose stay was nearing expiry, by way of thanks for their help with the Covid-19 pandemic.Whilst this is welcome, we should go beyond that and grant indefinite leave to remain to them all.
It would be shameful to have them risk their lives for us only to require them to leave or to deport them at a later date. Let us really say thank you and at the same time make some worthwhile amends for the Windrush scandal.
