What the petition asks
Understand that students are more vulnerable to mental health issues and consider this factor when forming exams for 2021 as negative mental health doesn't discriminate. With 4 months of self teaching, the stress amongst exam students are high which puts pupils at risk.
The effects of mental health are often brushed off by the government when these issues will be visible amongst this generation in the future. The new consultation by Ofqual ignores the effects of mental health as quarantine has increased the amount of students affected by it. If the government is able to work alongside Ofqual could really benefit students get fair examinations and get students the help they need for their mental health.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We understand that you're concerned about the mental health of students, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking the Government to provide funding for mental health services for this cohort of students, if that's something that you'd like to see.
