What the petition asks

Create legislation that supports free speech but punishes MSM by £10,000 fine each time they publish fake news. The main stream media have had a demoralising impact on the UK population during the Covid Pandemic and only fear of financial penalties will prevent repeat occurrences.
To demonstrate to the UK population that you can protect the public and legislate against Fake, speculative and scaremongering news output by Main Stream Media.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Introduce statutory regulation of the media.
