What the petition asks
Make schools teach about mental health and different mental health disorders to help more students if they’re dealing with it.
students should have an understanding of mental health illnesses incase they know anyone dealing with it and want to help or if you’re dealing with it yourself you know how to get help or help yourself.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Education about physical health and mental wellbeing is already part of the Department for Education's statutory guidance on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education, which forms part of the national curriculum: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/changes-to-personal-social-health-and-economic-pshe-and-relationships-and-sex-education-rse. RSE education will be compulsory from September 2020.
