Private tests for Covid-19 for travel in and out of the UK.

Rejected 19 signatures

What the petition asks

For the goverment to allow approved private sector tests for Covid-19 to everyone travelling in and out of the UK prior to boarding. Possibly adding a surcharge on fares to enable this to happen.
This would increase confidence in travelling in a struggling Travel Industry and help the Tourism and Hospitality Sector as well and reduce new Covid cases in the UK.
This would also reduce pressure on the NHS Covid-19 testing facilities.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. People can already pay for private testing prior to travelling. We are not sure if you would like this to have an impact on quarantine measures, or be required before entry to the UK.
