Remove gender from the passport and all relevant documentation

What the petition asks
Remove the gender specification from the passport and all relevant documentation, leaving transgender people no obligation to have to change or explain their gender.
In all documentation, include the UK passport, gender is specified. Even with transgender rights becoming more prominent, transgender people often feel uncomfortable with the gender on their documentation - even if it’s changed. In the Netherlands, it is planned to remove gender from all identification to avoid upsetting or making transgender people uncomfortable. Why can’t this happen in the UK? If the UK is truly free why is specifying your gender necessary?
