What the petition asks

Remove or lower the age for Student Finance Independence to 16.

At age 16 you can get a job and move out and yet Student finance will only allow you to apply independently if you are over 25 years old or estranged from your parents.

I'm 21 years old and I love my parents but I live in another country and work hard to support myself why should I have to incorporate their earnings onto my student finance application because I dont want to be estranged. I alongside many others are being punished for trying to progress ourselves.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
