Student finance should be calculated on how much people need

What the petition asks
Why does it make a difference how much the household earns? All different universities have different fees related to their accommodation and they aren’t cheap. The student finance should be measured on how much money you need. It is a loan so why should it be limited anyway.
Student finance should be calculated on how much people need instead of the household income. Why should it matter how much our parents or partners earn? We should be allowed to become independent with our studies and our finances, not having to rely on our parents to help us pay our living costs.
