Furlough rights for those struggling with childcare during covid

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

The government should require employers to grant requests to furlough for those in extreme circumstances or groups who will most struggle to work and homeschool at the same time such as single parents, carers and parents of disabled or SEN children.
The government introduced carers furlough during the first lock down but did not require employers to consider it. In the current lock down the government has "urged" employers to consider furlough for those struggling do to school closures. Employers are not responding to this request with figures showing that 71% of those requesting furlough are being refused.
