Enforce the recycling of bottles and cans

What the petition asks
Introduce legislation that bans the sale of non refundable drinks containers
Litter spoils our enjoyment of the countryside and can be harmful for wildlife and people.
Bottles and cans form a significant part of litter in the UK. We need a Deposit Return Scheme, backed up by the Government.
For example; the Swedish model which is inshrined into law, uses a specially purposed organisation.
In 2018, Environment Secretary Michael Gove said “It is absolutely vital we act now.” If it was urgent then, it is even more so now.
