Stricter laws on trophy hunting and the illegal trade of animal parts

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like to lengthen custodial sentences for the illegal trade of animal parts and I would also like to increase the fines. I would like to influence decision makers to limit the importation of trophies where the animal wasn’t killed humanely.
Trophy Hunting is having detrimental effects on the populations of endangered species. The activity is getting out of hand and is not being controlled. The same species are being targeted over and over and international regulations often fail to fully protect the most threatened. Only the most experienced hunters should be able to participate. Some weapons should be prohibited such as bows and arrows, muzzle loaders and handguns. Punishments for the illegal trade of animal parts to be harsher.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
