This information should be available to consumers to enable them to make informed choices about their purchases. Some consumers prefer to make purchasing decisions in line with personal values and ethics. This can mean supporting businesses based in countries with a good track record of human rights. It is currently very hard or impossible to identify the country of origin / manufacture of many items retailers online.
