Allow Trans individuals to self ID as the gender they identify as
Rejected
12 signatures
What the petition asks
Allow transgender and Nonbinary people over the age of 16 to self identify their gender on birth certificates, passports and all forms of ID without a medical diagnoses
This allows trans and nonbinary people to have more autonomy over their identity and cuts down on the time and expense needed to change their gender identity. Those at the age of 16 are old and mature enough to be able to recognise their gender and have it recognised by law and therefore should be included in this situation.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
