What the petition asks

Pedophiles and murderers get off incredibly lightly with sentences, you can get longer for possession of drugs, this causes outrage and heartbreak to victims and families of those affected, it is not a deterrent and it needs to change.

Victims and families of people affected by these crimes do not get closer. 4 years in prison for killing somebody is not a deterrent to not reoffend and it makes a mockery of the system put in place which is meant to protect the public. A minimum sentence for murder should be put in place, and likewise for committing a sexual offence against a child.
