Get self defence taught in schools as part of the National Curriculum

What the petition asks
Nicola Hey and Michelle Williams. We are two karate instructors who are passionate about teaching self defence in schools. This is only for the schools who find it as important or can afford it which is not acceptable. Every child has the right to gain the knowledge needed to keep themselves safe.
The ability to protect oneself physically from harm is a basic human right that should be accessible to everyone, including children.
Not only do we need to provide every child with the confidence and knowledge of how to defend themselves but also the knowledge of self awareness, the impact of certain actions, how to keep save.
We need this on the National Curriculum as EVERY CHILD MATTERS. If we do this maybe we will not be opening the papers to another child being a victim of today’s society.
