Petition · past parliament

I would like healthcare staff to have a decent pay.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Upon researching pay, truck drivers, brickies and other employment areas have much better pay than healthcare staff. A newly qualified nurse currently is paid less than 20k after tax, a driver earns 30k+
Covid has been difficult on all, but it is an insult to healthcare staff that they are paid so little in comparison to other "essential workers". A better wage will also entice others to work and train within the NHS, as well as help retain others currently working in it.
