The Royal Mail should be subject to additional regulations for mail delivery
Rejected
13 signatures
What the petition asks
To enforce opt in rather than opt out regulations for the Royal Mail when it comes to unaddressed / unsolicited / promotional mail.
There is too much paper wastage on unaddressed mail and this doesn’t tie in with the country’s goals to reduce its carbon footprint. 95% of unaddressed mail goes straight in the bin, and is unwanted.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We understand you're concerned about unsolicited mail, however it's not clear how such an 'opt in' system would work or what specific forms of mail this would apply to.
