What the petition asks
In recent days, South Africans have been unable to live their lives in a way that is secure. This is because of ongoing protests sparked by the detention of Jacob Zuma, the former president on a contempt of court sentence. This has sparked looting and potential food shortages
In recent days, there have been numerous reports of ongoing violence that threatens the daily lives of South Africans. As part of a commitment to democracy and the rule of law beyond it's borders, the government should intervene or assist or restore peace and stability.
Further, given the likelihood of increased petrol and food shortages, the government should provide aid in the form of food, to meet its aid commitments.
