Ban on dog breeding unless they are licensed Ban on artificial insemination

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Make Dog breeding a licensed business only
Ban artificial insemination in dogs illegal
Make councils more responsible for licensing
Because we are overrun with dogs in the rescue centres , dogs are being dumped and mistreated for the sake of money , some dogs are being bred to death and it needs stricter laws as they don't go far enough .The breeding license needs to be more expensive as well so only ppl that really are interested in breeds best interests will pay .

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you're concerned about dog breeding, however councils are already responsible for licensing dog breeders in their area, so it's not clear how you would like them to be made 'more responsible' for this. You can find out more about dog breeding licenses here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/dog-breeding-licence-england.

You could have a petition calling for a specific change to the conditions which must be met in order for a breeding license to be granted, if that is something you'd like to see happen.

You might also like to sign this petition which calls for a related action: Introduce new requirements for pets, owners and breeders
