Stop MPs from having paid employment outside of Parliament.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Make it illegal for MPs to receive remuneration for carrying out activities on behalf of commercial organisations.
"A man cannot serve two masters". It is impossible for an MP to remain impartial if he has a relationship with an entity on one side of a parliamentary decision, no matter how well intentioned.
MPs should not be remunerated by outside interests, ie have a job outwith Parliament.
The only exception would be non-exec positions with recognised Charities.
This would help prevent the appearance of sleaze in MP's lobbying activities.

Why it was rejected
