Allow children to have one week off school per year without punishment

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Allow children to have one week off school per year without punishment or a negative report. This could be outside exam periods for GCSE age students.
The cost of going on holiday outside of term time is extortionate, often 2/3 times the cost it would be to go a few weeks earlier or later in some cases (or at other times). It is grossly unfair to force parents &/or carers to pay these extortionate prices (alongside childcare costs & other great expenses we may have) to take their children on holiday and is simply too expensive for some people to take their children on holiday at all! One week off school pa for holiday would not be detrimental!

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
