Stop proposals making passing Maths & English a must for university education

What the petition asks
This petition calls upon the government to scrap this proposal. Higher applications to University should not be solved by excluding those already disadvantaged and further reproduce the status quo in the UK.
Part of the governments ‘shake-up’ will mean that students who fail their Maths or English GCSE will be ineligible for student loans. Refusing such students from higher education would exclude an enormous proportion of students but especially impact those already disadvantaged in education.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
