What the petition asks
Freeze Energy prices to the energy prices as of Apr 2022
Stop energy poverty, stop the population suffering the extreme effects of exceptional energy prices. People cannot afford projected price increase.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The calculation of the energy price cap is a matter for the regulator Ofgem, which is operationally independent of the UK Government and House of Commons.
