End Public Duties Cost Allowance for ex pm unless they meet a certain criteria.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

End the Public Duties Cost Allowance for ex prime ministers that were not voted in via a General Election, or have not been in post for at least 6 months.
Under current rules, PMs are entitled to claim £115,000 for the rest of their life, even after being PM for less than 2 months, or if they were voted in via internal party ballot, and not via a GE.

The Appointment of any Prime Minister on behalf of the country, via anything other than a GE is undemocratic, and to then pay them a lifetime annual salary of this size, at the taxpayers expense, is unacceptable.

In the past 2 months, 3 people became entitled to it, under this system.
