What the petition asks
Increase maternity pay and leave.
It is far too hard for parents do live and raise a child with he current financial budget and it is very difficult to return to work when the baby is only few months old. With no help from family members (as not all might have) the parents are pushed to choose between raising a child or obtaining the basis needs.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
Extend Maternity leave to full pay for 12 months when working
