Motion · S1M-01870 · 25 Apr 2001
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park
The motion
That the Parliament notes with regret the decision by the Board of Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) to advise against the inclusion of Argyll Forest Park and Loch Eck within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park; further notes that this is in direct contradiction to the views of the SNH Reporter charged with advising the Scottish Executive; recognises the many public bodies which are in favour of extending the National Park’s boundaries including Argyll and Bute Council, visitscotland and Forest Enterprise; believes that particular notice must be taken of the strong public support in the area for such inclusion, and calls upon the Scottish Executive to implement the recommendation of the SNH Reporter to include Argyll Forest Park and Loch Eck within Scotland’s first National Park.
