The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the University of Glasgow and all associated with the Arts in Medicine Week, 7 - 12 October 2002, held to celebrate the completion of the Wolfson Medical School Building and representing the culmination of nine months of planning and hard effort by medical undergraduate students there; applauds the foresight of the university in securing the creation of the new purpose-built medical school building in University Avenue, created by Reiach and Hall Architects, and providing an ideal learning environment for medical undergraduates with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance the university’s global reputation for its medical faculty's innovative problem-based learning curriculum and development of clinical skills; commends the sterling work of Professor Sir Michael Bond and all that worked with the fund-raising committee together with the support of the Wolfson Foundation and Lord Wolfson of Marylebone, and looks forward to closer integration between the university, students and wider communities in and around the city of Glasgow.
